for its Pro Bono Program, which provides quality pro bono civil legal assistance to the low-income population of the Capital District.
Bethlehem Youth Court, Inc., Delmar
for the Bethlehem Youth Court, which provides an alternative to criminal and family court for first-time youthful offenders. Funding directed from the Judith S. Kaye Youth Court Fund.
Brennan Center for Justice, New York
to continue its Access to Justice program, which aims to improve opportunities for low-income individuals, families, and communities to secure effective legal representation and basic access to the courts in New York State.
The Bronx Defenders, Bronx
to provide rap sheet review and employment advocacy and to document the accuracy of the Criminal History Record Search criminal history dissemination system to advocate for a comprehensive set of reforms.
The Brooklyn Bar Association Volunteer Lawyers Project, Inc., Brooklyn
for a Foreclosure Intervention Program Clinic to provide initial advice and counsel to homeowners facing foreclosure.
CASA of the Southern Tier, Inc., Corning
for its CASA Program, which trains community volunteers to serve as a neutral third party to Family Court, Article 10 proceedings.
Center for Court Innovation/Fund for the City of New York, New York
for the Staten Island Youth Court, which provides an alternative to the traditional criminal justice system for low-level youthful offenders. A second grant is supporting the Youth Justice Program to develop a model Operations Manual for youth courts in New York State, and a third grant is funding the Youth Justice Board program to conduct extensive research on juvenile crime in New York City with particular focus on Brownsville, Brooklyn. Funding for the grants has been directed from The Judith S. Kaye Youth Court Fund.
Center for Family Representation, New York
to provide legal representation and advocacy to parents at risk of losing their children to foster care. Partial funding directed from The Richard J. Bartlett Fund.
Council for the Prevention of Alcohol and Substance Abuse, Hudson Falls
for the Warren County Youth Court, which is an alternative sentencing and diversion program for youthful offenders. Funding directed from the Judith S. Kaye Youth Court Fund.
Edwin Gould Services for Children & Families, Brooklyn
to expand its STEPS to End Family Violence/Domestic Violence Immigration Initiative, which provides legal services to victims of domestic violence and their families. Partial funding directed from The Anne B. Keenan Memorial Fund.
Empire Justice Center, Albany
to support the LGBT Domestic Violence Legal Project, which provides statewide legal advocacy, technical support and training specific to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender related issues.
Farmworker Legal Services of New York, Inc., Rochester
to update outreach materials distributed to farmworkers to ensure that information about their legal rights is accessible, understandable and accurate.
Gay Men's Health Crisis, New York
to provide free legal services to people living with HIV/AIDS.
Genesee County CASA for Children, Batavia
to recruit and train additional CASA volunteers to increase the number of children served.
Goddard Riverside Community Center, New York
to provide representation in legal and administrative proceedings to low-income tenants in Manhattan.
Hillside Children's Foundation, Morris
for the Livingston County Youth Court, which seeks to hold juvenile offenders accountable for their actions by providing an avenue of restorative justice. Funding directed from the Judith S. Kaye Youth Court Fund.
Housing Court Answers, New York
to fund tenant screening training, education, awareness and outreach programs.
Huntington Youth Bureau Youth Development Research Institute, Inc., Huntington
for the Huntington Youth Court, which provides an alternative to the juvenile justice system for first-time misdemeanor juvenile offenders. Funding directed from the Judith S. Kaye Youth Court Fund.
In Our Own Voices, Inc., Albany
for its monthly Ask-A-Lawyer legal clinic, which provides legal education and consultation to marginalized sub-populations, with a particular focus on LGBT people of color.
inMotion Inc., New York
for The Joan L. Ellenbogen Memorial Fellowship to support the work of its four externs, who provide direct representation to women with complicated family law matters and contested divorces. Funding directed from The Joan L. Ellenbogen Memorial Fellowship Fund.
A second grant is providing funding to the Domestic Violence Program which offers matrimonial and family law services to victims of domestic violence in Queens.
LatinoJustice PRLDEF, New York
to provide free, bilingual legal services to Latino immigrants.
Lawyers for Children, New York
for its Immigration Rights Project for Youth in Foster Care, which enables children who are in foster care due to abuse, neglect, or abandonment to obtain green cards.
Legal Action Center, New York
to provide legal assistance to low-income New Yorkers with criminal records so that they can gain employment, housing and services necessary to become productive members of society.
Legal Aid Bureau of Buffalo, Inc., Buffalo
to educate professionals in the Eighth Judicial District about the educational needs and rights of court-involved children.
Legal Aid Society, Kew Gardens
fund tenant screening training, education, awareness and outreach programs.
Legal Aid Society, New York
to support its Domestic Violence Training Initiative, which provides survivors of domestic violence with knowledge and resources that will assist them in accessing their rights under family, matrimonial and immigration laws.
Legal Aid Society of Mid-New York, Inc., Utica
to increase its capacity to provide bankruptcy representation to low-income residents of Herkimer, Madison and Oneida counties.
Legal Aid Society of Northeastern New York, Albany
to respond to the mortgage foreclosure crisis in the Capital Region by providing attorney representation to low and moderate income borrowers facing the risk of foreclosure in the Capital Region. Partial funding directed from The Lorraine Power Tharp Endowment Fund.
Legal Aid Society of Rochester, Inc., Rochester
to provide comprehensive educational advocacy services to at-risk youth in Monroe, Livingston, Genesee and Orleans Counties.
Legal Assistance of Western New York, Inc, Geneva
for its LawHelp.org/NY project, which aims to help low-income, limited English proficient, and other vulnerable New Yorkers by providing resources about legal rights and information on free legal aid organizations.
A second grant is funding the Miriam Maccoby Netter Fellowship whereby a law student will analyze the intellectual property implications of cloud computing in a legal services setting. Funding directed from the Miriam Maccoby Netter Fellowship Fund, created and funded by the Intellectual Property Law Section.
Legal Services for the Elderly, Disabled or Disadvantaged of Western New York, Inc. Buffalo
to collaborate with the Legal Aid Bureau of Buffalo to provide legal services to homeowners in default and mortgage foreclosure in Erie, Niagara and Orleans Counties.

A second grant is providing funding for bankruptcy assistance to low-income New Yorkers who are at or below 200 percent of the federal poverty line.

to raise awareness about elder abuse in New York State by conducting follow-up to its 2010 Elder Abuse Summit.

to expand its CASA program, which provides guidance and support to abused or neglected children in the Westchester Family Court system, and helps ensure they are placed in safe, permanent homes as quickly as possible.
Mercy Haven, Inc., Islip Terrace
to continue its Mercy Advocacy Project, which provides free legal assistance to poor people living with mental illness.
MFY Legal Services, Inc., New York
for its Consumer Rights Project, which provides advocacy and counseling to low-income New Yorkers involved in consumer debt cases, and promotes law reform to end abusive debt collection practices.
MinKwon Center for Community Action, Flushing
to provide free legal services to the under-served Asian American population in Flushing, Queens.
My Sisters' Place, Inc., White Plains
to assist victims of domestic violence by offering advanced litigation and appellate advice and representation.
Nassau County Bar Association, Inc., Mineola
to expand its public service mortgage foreclosure project, which aims to help homeowners and their families navigate the foreclosure process.
Nassau/Suffolk Law Services Committee, Inc., Hempstead
to expand its Pro Bono Attorney-of-the-Day Project, which provides legal representation to Nassau County tenants facing eviction.
National Center for Law & Economic Justice, New York
to ensure that local departments of social services in upstate New York are brought into compliance with federal disabilities rights laws.
Neighborhood Economic Development Advocacy Project, New York
to fund tenant screening training, education, awareness and outreach programs.
New York Civil Liberties Union, New York
to monitor the implementation and progress of judicial diversion, which is part of recent reforms to New York State's harsh drug sentencing laws.
New York State Defenders Association, Inc., Albany
for its Criminal Defense Immigration Project, which trains defense lawyers across New York State about the requirements of Padilla v. Kentucky, a new landmark U.S. Supreme Court decision.
New York County Lawyers' Association, New York
to provide pro bono assistance to individuals with misdemeanor and felony convictions who are denied vocational licenses by the New York State Department of State.
New York Lawyers for the Public Interest, Inc., New York
to continue the Guardianship Training Project, through which it provides low-income parents and caregivers of children with disabilities with training on filing for legal guardianship of their adult children.
New York Legal Assistance Group, New York
to conduct the Joan L. Ellenbogen Memorial Fellowship for its No-Fault Divorce Project which provides matrimonial representation, with a focus on assisting low-income women to obtain divorces under the new no-fault divorce law. Funding directed from The Joan L. Ellenbogen Fellowship Fund.
A second grant is providing funding to its Immigration Fraud Prevention Project which aims to protect immigrants from becoming victims of immigration scams perpetrated by non-lawyers and unscrupulous attorneys.

to the Committee on Courts of Appellate Jurisdiction to provide free appellate representation in selected Family Court and matrimonial appeals to the Appellate Division, Third Department. Partial funding directed from the MacCrate Fund to Preserve the Core Values of the Legal Profession.

for the Law Youth & Citizenship Program to conduct the Mock Trial Summer Institute, to continue to conduct the New York Statewide High School Mock Trial Tournament; and to conduct a Law-Related Education Summer Institute in June 2011 in partnership with Project P.A.T.C.H..
Northern Manhattan Improvement Corporation, New York
to provide upper Manhattan's working poor residents with legal representation, advice education, advocacy and counseling in the area of consumer debt.
Partnership for Children's Rights, New York
to help economically disadvantaged children with disabilities to access special services to which they are entitled under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act.

for the Ontario County Youth Court, which is a youth-driven, voluntary alternative to court and school disciplinary proceedings. Funding directed from the Judith S. Kaye Youth Court Fund.
Partnership for the Homeless, New York
to provide legal advocacy services to individuals and families who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless in New York City.
Prisoners' Legal Services of New York, Albany
to provide funding for its Pro Bono Program.
Pro Bono Net, Inc., New York
to increase access to justice for low-income individuals by providing support to legal aid organizations and pro bono attorneys.
Queens County Bar Association Volunteer Lawyers Project, Jamaica
to provide free legal representation at court mandated foreclosure settlement conferences to Queens residents at risk of losing their homes.
Safe Horizon, Inc., New York
to educate staff attorneys in its Domestic Violence Law Project about current cash assistance and housing law matters. They will then train other Safe Horizon staff on these matters.
Selfhelp Community Services, Inc., New York
for its Evelyn Frank Legal Resources Program, which provides legal services devoted to helping vulnerable low-income seniors obtain access to health care and related benefits.
Syracuse University, Entrepreneurship Bootcamp for Veterans with Disabilities, Syracuse
to provide funding over three years to enable 35 additional veterans to attend the program free of charge and to further develop curriculum to include a business ethics module and to develop additional tools to measure its program outcomes. The program is designed to leverage the skills, resources and infrastructure of higher education to offer cutting edge, experiential training in entrepreneurship and small business management to post-9/11 U.S. military veterans with disabilities resulting from their military service.
The Center for Youth Services, Inc., Rochester
for the Rochester Teen Court, which provides an alternative to the traditional criminal justice system for first-time teen offenders. Funding directed from the Judith S. Kaye Youth Court Fund.
The Door - A Center of Alternatives, Inc., New York
for its Immigrant Youth Peer Education Program, which trains immigrant youth peer educators on their legal rights to education, housing, and immigration status, and provides them with the organizational and advocacy skills necessary to educate and empower their peers.
The National Network to End Domestic Violence, New York
for its Latina Outreach Project, which educates Latina women in New York City about domestic violence and the laws in place to help them.
University of Pennsylvania Law School, Center for Technology, Innovation and Competition, Philadelphia
to provide funding over three years to hold conferences and host visiting scholars and research fellows to advance legal and policy research into emerging issues of technology and innovation. The Center also will conduct classes and summer research, taking its exploration of these issues to another level.
Vermont Immigration and Asylum Advocates, Burlington, VT
to provide immigration legal services to non-U.S. citizens who are detained in Clinton County Jail in Plattsburgh, New York by U. S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Partial funding has been directed from The John R. Dunne Fund
Volunteers of Legal Service, New York
to provide pro bono legal assistance to low-income New Yorkers who have been denied unemployment insurance benefits after losing their jobs. Funding has been directed from The Mark H. Alcott Fund.
Workers' Rights Law Center of New York, Inc., Kingston
to support its Community Legal Education project, which provides legal assistance to low-wage and immigrant workers in New York's Hudson Valley.
